Good morning Moyra and all who follow

Sorry Harvey don't grow gooseberries. There were some here when we moved in but they suffered from mildew so out they came. It looks like Moyra is your go to person for those

Hope you are offered a good price for the van Lynn.

Lovely morning here but very frosty. Have put the bedding out but at the moment I think it is frozen

Hope all are well

Have a good day and stay safe.

Just heard Kirk Douglas has passed away at the great age of 103. Amazing.

Afternoon Moyra, Sue, brenda and all to follow.
Well van is now back where we bought it from been given a good price far more than privately and don't have to put up with the tyre kickers.
We felt sad but it really isn't used enough and this way they can do it up or recycle for parts although the guy reckons it's good for a long while yet despite it's age.
Toyota Previas go forever it seems.

Harvey hope you are feeling better today.
Amazing age wasn't it brenda.

Hope everyone and all four legged friends are well today.

Hello Moyra, thanks for your message last night I will certainly take you up on your offer that's a long time in the gardening world.

For now the question concerning gooseberries is how you prune them. We have one, (I don't know the variety) it fruited quite well last year but had a lot of branches coming up from ground and with the weight of the berries they all bent over and many were on the ground and covered in mud.

I think I read some where that what you need to do is prune it so that there is one large 'leg' which grows vertically and the fruiting branches come off that and are well above the ground.

Would you agree with that

Good evening/early morning all.

White blanket covering the ground this morning when we got up, but, thankfully, it was frost not snow. Blimey, it was chilly when we first went out though.

Pram is now all packed away and no sign of the limp returning. Won't be introducing her playtimes in the garden back in until Sunday though and we'll build that up gradually.

It was a grand old age Kirk Douglass reached. What an amazing life he led.

Yes, Harvey, keep your main stem up and its branches above the ground. You have read right.

Thank you Moyra I will do that and hope to start this week if I am feeling good Alena likes gooseberries (So do I) so might plant another one and since you mentioned Careless it'll probably be that one.
