The 'e-mail' fraud continues

I don't imagine there's anyone on Dogsey who doesn't know about this but I'm still amazed that people are being caught. Todays 'victim' was a man presumeably fairly knowledgible (He wanted to transfer £15K to his financial adviser) but still lost the money to a fraudster.


A popular method used by scammers is to send a last-minute email purporting to be from the recipient’s solicitor or financial adviser. The email will inform them of a change of bank account for a pending payment, but the new account will belong to the criminal.

This is exactly what happened to this guy.

Yes Twix, as I said above I am confident Dogsey people are more 'clued up' but what amazes me is that it's not just pensioners and those for whom finance is a little bit onerous, it's also many people who are clearly quite intelligent, like the guy in the story I posted.
