Fox hunting to be legalised again - if the tories get their way!!

Tories to legalise fox hunting if they win 2015 general election

The party will offer a free vote in the next Parliament if the party wins in May, The Telegraph can disclose.

The Conservatives will try to lift the fox hunting ban if the party wins May’s general election.

The party will offer a free vote in the next Parliament to legalise hunting if the party wins in May, The Telegraph can disclose.

The news has emerged on Boxing Day, traditionally the biggest day of the hunting calendar when thousands of supporters turn out to watch their local hunts.

The party’s manifesto is set to say that the Hunting Act is wrong-headed and a future Tory government would try to repeal it.

The decision will be on a free vote of MPs in the House of Commons, echoing the manifesto commitments in 2005 and 2010, and has been agreed with Oliver Letwin, the Cabinet Office minister who is drawing up the manifesto.

Lose a vote? No problem, just have another until you get the outcome you want.

Democracy at its finest - NOT!!

That vote was lost some 10 years ago. I always thought that one of the finest things about living in a democracy is that things can be revued and acted on accordingly. Whether that means changes are made or the status quo remains. Don't slag off our Democracy (one of the oldest in the world, and a system on which so many others are modelled) just because the end result may not be one you personally like!

Why has this thread been started in Dog Chat and Discussions, when surely it should come under General Chat. Might also smack of a little Socialist bias! Not very even handed eh!

Democracy in itself is undemocratic ... In that a true democracy is an impossibility ... Simply because inequality is a fact of life ... It is nature, there will always be haves and have nots, rich and poor, strong and weak. It is nature, the way of every single animal and plant on the planet ... From the most basic single cell protozoan right up to us, Homo sapiens

Gnasher - A true Democracy may be an impossibility, but do suspect that our attempt at it (with all it's faults) is probably one of the better options, given what you can so readily see happening in most of the rest of this "civilised" world. Azz - Suppose you had to put it somewhere as we don't have a Labour Party Political Support Section. Can't help feeling that I know where you ought to put it.

It's been a sham from the start. It has never truly been enforced - in fact it has been flouted from day one with very few repercussions.

Let's hope we don't have the 'Scottish' vote every 10 years, the vote on Europe every 10 years, or a vote on every law on the books every 10 years.
