well max is a big soft lump of nothing but his siter is much more feisty and domineering lol like most men and woman really. i would get a bitch next time just as i want one of each and although max is soppy i dont fancy having two males incase it changed my max

I don't really think there is a great deal of difference every dog seem to have it's own quirky little characteristic, and if they are well treated all dogs are lovely

I have always had a dog & bitch combination rather than two of the same sex. What put me off having the same sex is other people telling me of the fights their dogs have on maturity - I didn't want to take the gamble.

That said there are many people here who have same sex dogs and obviously they get on great!

I have one of each at the moment and they get on great. Although in the past when I had two Dalmatians one of each sex they fought terribly although I put this down to them being brother and sister and them having dominance issues.

I love both, we have four bitches and two dogs and they are all different personalities. I think my dogs are softer, the bitches tend to think more. I,m always saying that Alfie and Denzel don,t have a brain cell between them sometimes I have found it more difficult to train my dogs (maybe its just mine ) the bitches seem quicker.

When planning to increase the size of our doggie family we tend to see what the existing dogs think before deciding male or female. I have a preference for males but my hubby likes females but the most important thing is the dogs like each other not which sex they are. IMO

i cant say if i think ones better than the other, cos the boy dog i had when i was 14 was soppy and cuddly and would come for a cuddle if you asked him to. Whereas indie is a right little madam and only cuddles on her terms,lol, and then buggers off when shes had enough. I like the qualities in both tho and will be getting a boy next time to go with indie
