No wholemeal flour?

Is anyone else noticing that there is no wholemeal flour in the supermarkets?

There isn't any in Asda, Morissons or Sainsbury's where I live.

What's going on? I want to make chapatties

mmnn not noticed it here. I bought chapatti flour in tesco the other day - its in the finest section beside the cake mixes etc if that helps

I haven't noticed, but I have noticed that anything wheat based the price has gone through the roof - flour,pasta,bread, cereals etc... I'm sure it wasn't long ago you could get 2 loves for £1!
Is there a shortage of wheat or something?

I got wholemean flour from Tesco 2 weeks ago!

Theres been problems with wheat for over a year......with all the bad weather, the farmers crops weren't growing, so they had little to sell, so put the prices up to try and make money.
Then the fuel went up, so fuel prices obviously get added on....I noticed rabbit food/bird food/dog food (I have a pet shop) went up loads last year, and this year it's still been slowly creeping up!

@ Brundog - I can get some atta (chapatti flour) from our Indian shop, but I sometimes make them using half and half plain and wholemeal flour

My friend got my some Allinson's from Sainsbury's yesterday - it was £1.15
