Sounds just like our Rianna, I had to give her the worming tablets today and hid them in some sausages, she doesn't usually get sausages, and she turned her nose up, and it took a long while before she would take them.

I mean, for heavens sake, what dog doesn't like sausages

Well, I've gone and done it, as I'm afraid the money kind of swayed me a tad. The thought of getting £150 quid a week for sitting on my backside for the next 5 months was just too much temptation I'm afraid. It works out so perfectly too, cos we would have half of October to do what we wanted like changing that bathroom lino again which has gone all grey since somebody left the loo cleaner upturned behind the loo That was new lino in March too, along with all the carpet, but thankfully, the carpet has stayed like new. He reckons they'll be out of there by the end of April at the very latest which is perfect cos the van is booked from the 3rd May for almost the whole month.

I had a long chat with him, he sounds a nice chap and he's working full time and his wife works 2 days a week, and he said compared to being stuck in one room at his mum's the idea of a whole caravan to themselves would be heaven, so he's taken it without even seeing it, except for online of course where he saw it. I wouldn't have let it to a non working couple, but they will hardly be in it, except to sleep and I'm sure his wife will be careful with the toddler who's almost 2. I can't really see what damage a 2 year old could do apart from write on the walls. I was thinking more along the lines of single person with a dog, but I just couldn't turn this down, cos it will pay the rent for the entire year, which in turn, means all my holiday lettings will be all mine (for once!). I've spent so much on the other van that this will offset those expenses tax wise I'm sure, and it sure will be a help, especially as Dave is thinking of giving up his workshop next April.

Eileen, get you, and yes please, let's have some pics of all that luxury you're swamped in at that hotel, I love posh hotels

Hi Sally, you have plums I have rotten apples to pick up on a daily basis and the blooming tree is laden with them this year. I'm going to get half that tree chopped off this winter so I don't have the problem. It's right up on the top level and it's far too big to be sitting up there like that. Something is eating them, even though they're cookers and only half the size they should be. I can imagine all those wasps on your plums (pardon the expression!!!)

Lynn, I don't have experience of toddlers, tell me the worst cos I might change my mind on this lol! I can always give them notice cos I'm taking them on a monthly basis in advance and I will take a retainer too.

Zena's finally zonked out on her side. I hate it when she lays with her head between her front legs cos I feel she's not quite right, I like her either on her side or upside down, so I'm happy now.

Poor Dave's got a thumping head, he's put yet another clutch back today, which has given him neckache which in turn has given him his headache, so he rang me early cos he wants to get back to his little caravan and slap an ice pack on his head. Poor Dave, but he'll be home tomorrow.....and then he can start painting again We're still waiting for news on his appointment with the specialist

I'm watching that plastic surgery programme, but I'm so used to this old face, it would be far too scarey for me to risk changing anything in case I didn't like it and then what d'ya do??!! I'll just get my front crown renewed I think mainly cos it's beginning to hurt a tad now and I don't think I could go through yet another tooth abcess, let alone walk around with a gap at the front

Logging off now, tidying up to do in the kitchen, looking forward to my celeb BB cos I've already got one episode taped that I haven't watched yet. Gerra life H! Night night all, see you all tomorrow, hope all the doglets will be fine in the morning, and all your aches and pains will have gone who are suffering.xxxx

If you come back tonight please tell me what does Jimmi do if he finds a plum We have four trees and they are all nearly ripe and as you say many windfalls but Rianna has never even looked at them. Apples are different story, she will quite often find one on our walk and she will carry it home and then drop it. Luckily she never eats them either.

By the way re the rally scene we have just been told they are running one on Sat. Sept. 14th. which will include a competitive stage up our road and round the double hairpin at the west gate with the finish by our little chapel. We have been told to stay off the road that day It is a public road so not sure how they can do that but we rarely go out on a Saturday so it's no bother for us. Might go and watch and maybe take some piccies too.

I am sure it will be fine Helena. Not all 2 year olds are naughty. It is a few years since I had experience of toddlers
The money would of swayed me too.
The race sounds interesting Harvey bit of a cheek though asking the residents to stay off a public road.

I am signing off now Who do you think you are is on and my lap top is so slow I am going to chuck it through a window in a minute. If I see that egg timer symbol anymore I will scream. Aaaarrrrrgggghhhhhh.

Night all.

H - now where do I start with what damage a two year old can do Have you never heard of the "terrible twos"?

For a start, there are all the spilled drinks, both theirs and everyone elses. Then there is the throwing up all over the place when they are poorly, because at that age they cannot quite grasp the connection between what they are feeling and the necessity of getting to the loo. Talking of the loo, there is of course the toilet accidents. Tantrums at this age are the norm, and during tantrums things get thrown, kicked and generally misused! Decibel levels are alarmingly high. Soooo, this little paragraph merely deals with one small aspect of two year olds. Want any more

Harvey, Jimmi doesn't particularly like plums although he will sometimes nibble on the odd one; however, given that there are literally hundreds of tiny, aggressive, and very drunk wasps crawling all over them then I don't want to risk either a stung mouth or paw.
You will have to take your flask and sandwiches to watch that rally stage, and most definitely your camera please.

We get those wasps too but not very many, what scares the hell out of me are the hornets, they are so big and make such a noise, luckily (touch wood) we haven't seen any so far this year.

Just popped back in after trundling around the vast rooms of a big old country house in the nineteenth century. Fascinating stuff!

Night night Harvey, and yes, Hornets are seriously scarey. We used to see them at our last house, and we could hear them coming several minutes beforehand They are so big aren't they and I really wouldn't want to mess with them - in fact I used to run indoors and shut all the windows!

Verrrrrrrrrry quiet in here tonight.

Hi to anyone still here,

I had a diabolical journey to Mum's and ended up getting off the M25 at Jct 14 and doing the rest of the journey on side roads which took 1hr 20mns but at least I got there. Mum was really sweet and so pleased to see me. We had a laugh and she was very albeit confused. I had the best run back ever and made it in 43mins If only it was always that quick.

Moyra - I'm glad today went off as well as can be expected and I expect everyone will be feeling mentally exhausted tonight. I hope you sleep well. I'm glad I'm not the only one to get names/people muddled up
Eileen - Sounds as though you are having a lovely time - I look forward to seeing the photos of the suite .... oooh real luxury
Sally - I'm going to have to get a spare wheel ... it's quite ridiculous isn't it. Mind you neither have my sons got spare wheels with their BMW or Mercedes but they do have 'run-flats' which are great until they need replacing
May I tell you that I am very 'van-trained' having spent most of my childhood holidays in a van very similar to Helena's and we use to boat a lot - just like a van but it moves It'll be interesting to see what the dogs think. I can guarantee that Flash will be up and down those steps to he van and Rucksack will have to be helped - being the woos he is My immediate neighbours have had their daughter staying (she had a back op recently) with her two kids aged 4 and 2 for just over a month. They left this morning and as much as she adores them all she was beaming with joy to have her house back to herself again.
June - Walking four dogs will be interesting for you. But what a lovely time they'd all have being together. School summer holidays are almost over so life should get back to normal then.

My youngest son is home feeling really rough and he's got a temperature of nearly 103 which is pretty high. It's obviously some horrible virus which hopefully he won't pass on to me (or OH)
See you all tomorrow but I must get the dogs out now.
Sleep well.

Missed you again Jenny, but that journey to see your Mum sounded really horrible. It sounds as though it was worth it though.

Ah, so you are definitely van trained then - that's good! As for your neighbours, I can imagine them lying on various sofas with their feet up and a dazed but happy expression on their faces! Crikey, all that time with two tinies in the house I would need a straight jacket.

that doesn't sound too good about your son, and I have toes and things crossed that whatever ails him is not passed to you at this late stage before your holiday. Obviously I hope that he feels better soon too

I had better go and find Jimmi to throw him out for his final wee of the night.

Night night empty chat room.
