I think the KC do a scheme - I was told it costs £15 per dog to resgister the DNA

ETA - just found it on the KC website and it is £25 for the kit and register. Look up DNA profiling

Good god, looks the the MPB have gone in to liquidation!

http://www.sheffieldforum.co.uk/showthread.php?t=464665

I did not get a letter or an email! Must look in to this!

Just as well I only paid £99 per dog for life cover, wasn't it?! And not the monthly instalments!

Just as well I'm looking at my dog tag situation!

Thanks also Ailsa, I'm going to look in to it too.

I'm now quite concerned about my dogs DNA. You think you're doing right by your animals at the time, don't you?!

By law the tags have to have your name address and telephone number.
There doing DNA testing at one of the shows for £15 Im considering it to be honest.

I am afraid the information on this link is incorrect!

By LAW a legally compliant tag MUST contain the NAME of the owner, and the ADDRESS of the owner which MUST include either the house name or number and the postcode.

I cannot count the number of candidates who persistently FAIL to read and understand the very clear rules about this and thus fall at the first hurdle when entering the KCGCDS.

The other week I had to stop testing FOUR candidates, two of them went off to PAH and got a legally compliant on.

They said the police had told them what they had was correct, it was not.

So please, if you are going to direct people to a site re this subject make sure the information is correct!

If you would like to actually read the article it says in it 'please remember to refer to the control of dogs act 1992'.

Far too quick to criticise.
