HTM could still make an appearance from time to time, but if not on each year, it might seems less repetitive.
It must be very very hard for Mary to think up new ideas each year, i feel humbled watching her tbh. Such a lovely DTearth person too, not got any "side" to her, just enjoy watching the dog having a ball!!!!!!

Are you critising Mary or HWTM in general?
No I am not critisising Mary as she obviously is a brilliant trainer to get a dog to do that, I just don,t like HWTM I just find it boring to watch. I prefer to see dogs running and jumping as that is a natural thing for dogs to do, not stuck to a humans leg and prancing on two legs. That just my opinion and as I see it.

Which is partly why I was suggesting a break from it. As I say, I don't dispute that she has an amazing way with her dogs, I just think it would be nice to see something different - that could be Mary & her dogs without music, or someone else doing something different.

she dosent really do HWTM,just this! i think its a massive honour & compliment. We do see different things dont we in the programmes, they always show the agility/flyball & obvisley the breed, they showed NO obedience this year because its to boring (read "Specialised"), Mary is abit of pizazz before the BIS, i dont think it would be the same without it, i always look forward to what she will come up with! Its not really a demo but a preformance! Maybe you could make a cuppa when shes on next year?

* Sorry BTW!,im so p****d off with the LACK of ob coverage this year, ,so im in a very bad mood!shes the nearest we got to seeing any obedience, & i ADORE levi!!!! ****

Thats fair, i dont really like many dog activitys either.

I didnt really see much "prancing on two legs " from levi.

Yes at times he did "dance" in his lovely HW style, which is NATURAL for a dog of his breeding, you cant MAKE a dog do HW like that.Mav(my young dog) has done prancing/flashy HW from the first day we started doing HW (we dont do HWTM just ob) & that flashy style is def in the line!!!!!

as i said theres a perfect few mins to make a cuppa !!!!!!!!

Mishflynn - not once did I say Levi looked cringy or that he hated it ... what I said was heelwork to music in general makes ME cringe.

As I also said, it is great that the dogs are being trained to do something but, no, it is definitely not my thing and I won't be doing it!

I am not disputing the fact that the dog enjoys it, or that the trainers aren't talented ... it just seems a bit like a circus act to me, and I hated those even as a kid.

I suppose we all like different things, myself I like to see police dogs at work, I would have my cuppa ready for that.

I would, but I don't drink tea or coffee

No, I know lots of people love watching it, as, I say, I used to, it was only a suggestion for something different.

And I don't blame you for being p***d off with the lack of ob coverage, I actually thought the whole coverage was a bit rubbish - too much on the comentators and not enough about the actual show.
