"My wife says...."

"My wife says that I shouldn't let him play with your two, as they'll play rough and might attack him"

Said to me today by the owner of a young rescue collie who has played really well with the boys both Monday and Tuesday mornings on our walks. He saw us, called the dog over and put him back on his lead and held him really close as he passed by us whilst telling me this.

Poor dog, I wish his wife could see Ollie the 18week pug playing with two Dobies a Staffy and a terrier.
The other day we bumped into someone with 2 Rotties, 2 Dobies and a Boxer, Ollie was in heaven and everyone was in stitches as she barked at one of the Rotties for nicking her ball. They were all so laid back and mixed so well before we knew it we had loads more walking over to join in. At the end of it we had to keep checking we had the right dogs because one of their Dobies decided to come with us.

Poor dog, I dont know why people wont let their dogs play with others(unless there is a reason). Its happend with me, they see Skye and Jake wrestling and avoid, so secretly pleased when they call there dogs bag and the just ignore and run over to play.

For goodness sake. His Wife is just going to create problems for a dog that would have been well socialised if allowed to run and play.
I wonder what degree in dog psychology his wife has?

They met on Monday and were fine after the inital sniffing of bits etc.

Both days they've just chased each other all over the place, there's been no growling, not even much play-biting (cos the collie doesn't stay still enough). The dog has never backed off or down from the Boxers.

Presumably "the wife" thinks that large bull breed dogs are horrible and vicious

I've never even seen the wife, that's the laughable thing! It's the husband who is walking the dog at 7am (when it's -8 degrees) and at night (when it's still -8!!)

She's never even see my dogs either!
