Myself and my hubby got married on one of the hills overlooking our cottage and the reservoir here in Scotland. There was just us, our sons and his mum and my sister as witnesses.

It was relatively cheap and definitely a stress-free and very happy day.

Highly recommend it - although the weather may be against you at this time of year to get married outside!

You contact the registrar at your local registry office (or wherever you want to get married).

We got married in a registry office with just close family and then went to a nearby hotel in the Yorkshire Dales for a meal. Whole thing, including dress cost less than a grand.
