this is why i can't watch the 'bones' tv series based on kathy reich's books. temperance is suposed to be an late fortie/early fifties woman with a daughter in uni, not someone late twenties/early thirties. think i'll stick to reading the books and avoid the films.

My son lives the books and has read everyone, and is horrified that TC is in the film and has told me and his friends that he refuses to go see the film lol

The first one was pretty good and I read a few more and found that they become all a bit formulaic.
Tom Cruise is definitely not Jack Reacher though,

I have read Lee Childs books .I don't like to watch films of books I have read You have an image in your mind , watching a film spoils that for me

My OH and brother have read all the Lee Child books and were horrified when they heard that Tom Cruise was cast as Jack Reacher. Neither of them want to see the film.

However, my son hasn't read any of the books and went to see the film unaware that Jack Reacher was meant to be a tall well built man and he loved the film.

Same here - love all the books - can't watch the film - it will totally ruin the image I have of Jack Reacher in my mind - and that sure isn't Mr Cruise!!
