The scaffolder rang back as Gorden left a message for him.
He owned up to the mess of the scaffolding poles being put against our fascia and admitted he sent the lads out the day they came to put it up without enough caps.
He said it was a rush job it caught him off guard and he apologised for that, I did mention to him that after ringing he did come the same evening and put caps on and that is probably what saved the boards from being badly damaged.
He apologised for yesterday regards me asking Graham to ring him he was flapping because he hadn't been paid and the roofer was going on about the cost of the new fascia and he thought here we go.
He had learnt the roofer asked Graham to pay him up front for materials etc., and he said he thought aye aye maybe we need to watch this one.
I did mention we were a bit taken aback at the quote he gave and had seen the badly pointed ridge tiles and thought maybe we don't want them doing our fascia and that we were waiting for an independent quote.
We don't like to see anyone ripped off even if they need to sort the damage and even less like people not getting paid and thinking we are being used regards that.
The roofer has got a bit of an attitude to be fair and said yesterday he doesn't remember anyone's name so he most likely is confused it's because he's a druggie.
I thought that was very unprofessional.
Talking to him again today and for longer I would say he isn't he seemed very with it and apologetic.
The roofer had called him and said we had agreed no damage and he would pay by the end of the day. He still was being cautious and said till he receives the money he will still be on edge.
So fingers crossed that happens and I said hopefully we can all sleep better tonight. He told me if we ever need scaffolding call him and he will look after us and do us a good deal.
Lauren's brother has been told stage 1 cancer, one more test to do to decide radiotherapy or chemo. They have given him a better prognosis than he was expecting so he is feeling more positive as is everyone else.
Margaret has her scan next Saturday to determine if hers has spread or not. So fingers crossed her news is good to.
