Favouring a dog owner

We are thinking of getting builders in for ideas and quotes on a potential extension and today I saw a builder go past in his van, and he had his dog sitting with him. I guess having his dog alongside him endeared him to me and I thought if he takes his dog around with him he would be be someone to get a quote from and someone I could possibly work with.

Isn't that mad?

I can just see it now, estate agents, solicitors and double glazing salesmen all going around with dogs. I could start a business renting out dogs to them.

My pal Maggie in Cornwall used to maker her OH take his JRT to work with him in the winter (he was a builder) because it was 'his' dog and it was not housetrained! It wasn't with him because he wanted it with him. When the weather was good Stanley (the JRT) was out in the stable with the horse!

I used to take our collie bon to with me to work in my van although I have had to stop due to it possibly enhancing her love of traffic also on one occasion a customer couldn't resist saying hello opened the door to give her a stroke and bon weed all over her in excitement...

A few weeks ago I had a workman to do a job outside and he brought his dog Paco with him. All was fine between him and Chloe until he found an old bone she'd buried in the garden which they started to fight over so she had to be put in the house to cool off.

The following morning I saw her scratching and when I took a look she had some fleas on her back which she's never had before and I can only conclude she caught them from Paco. So I'm afraid in future workmen's dogs are not very welcome.
