Crufts Winner 2011: Flat Coated Retriever

A Flat Coated Retriever has won Crufts Best in Show 2011. 9 year old Vbos The Kentuckian owned by MR Irvine, from Scotland took the top prize. Basset Griffon Vendeen (Petit) got reserve. Two very nice dogs placed indeed, both looked very happy and healthy.

It's rare that we all like the top 2 dogs in our house but this year we did.

Er, they ALL got placed as they ALL won their groups and went forward to BIS, there can only be ONE BIS and a Reserve, there are no places.

All were fabulous specimens of their breed and a credit to their breeders, owners, and of course judges!

I should have put a bet on - I picked the winner & reserve! First time ever, lol.

However I did know the judge picked the Westminster BIS, a Deehound, because he said it fitted exactly the standard drawn up 150 years ago - so it was very likely going to be traditional, non-exaggerated breeds.
