I have a free download of Avast which seems to pick up a few virus threats. Barry also uses this and has done for a few years.

Yes, I agree with June AVG is brilliant and I swear by it. I started off with the free version and then have since been on the paid version for the last few years.

I have always had AVG free but my daughter installed eset for me which was an extension of her work license.
I have not had any probs until this last week and I'm not sure what went wrong.
I'm considering asking her to take it off and I will reinstall AVG.

I use McAfee too. Use it mainly because it is cheap through Sky, covers three computers and up-dates, does clean ups and scans automatically

Nippy what do you mean by this?
I ask because I have had a few problems of late, I think AVG have had a campaign to get people to buy the full version and I kept getting odd messages telling me I wasn't fully protected so I downloaded the latest free copy.

My bank offers free Kaspersky to its customers but my son says stick with AVG which you are used to.
