How to take a urine sample?

I need to take a urine sample from Daisy tomorrow morning. The vet said to use cotton wool. Does it matter if I use toilet tissue or kitchen roll as I have ran out of cotton wool and just realised it?

or a tray of some kind.....the fun you have..............lol
kitchen roll would be ok just get your rubbers on when you ring it out
some of them stop and stand up when you go near the rump....its a job and half.
what we do give her loads to drink and wait and watch, that way she might have such a long pee you can't miss getting some.

Hi katrina I always wait until the bitch is crouching then try to creep up and catch a dribble in something small like a cocotte or an omlette pan .If you can't manage to do that and don't have any cotton wool (which is pure and absorbant) loo roll will do (preferably something without chemicals)

You dont have to keep it there to catch all of it, do you know how many mls you need for a urine sample to be tested. Not a lot Reminds me when this woman brought us in a stool sample to check because she thought her dog had worms, the dog was a Mastiff and she brought us a carrier bag full of poop.....'in case we needed samples from various parts of it'....

Old very thoroughly washed out margarine tubs work well for catching urine...and you dont have to worry about making sure it doesnt get mixed up with pots and pans that you normally use.

I know you don't!
All it was, was for a dip stick!
But Teagan wee's fast, and if I pulled the dish away, her wee would have splashed all over me!
