Harry Potter and the Homeless greyhound

The owner of a dog rescue centre has revealed she was left spellbound when she realised a mystery woman offering to rehome one of her animals was world-renowned author JK Rowling.

Celia Fernie had no idea the woman who arrived with her family to look at her greyhounds was the multi-millionaire Harry Potter creator.

She only twigged when the writer asked to adopt a four-year-old dog named Sapphire - and handed over a signed £1,000 cheque. Mrs Fernie, 61, said: "I apologised and said 'Oh I'm sorry, I didn't realise who you were'."
Though it would be nice to hear of a "good dog story" rarther than the abused ones that seem to make the news.

That's so nice and a really nice change that a celebrity hasn't gone for a designer breed for a change, and decided to take on a rescue.
