I don't expect the poster will take kindly to what I am going to say, but......IMO it is tantamount to cruelty to confine a dog to a crate for 8 hours a day. Bad enough to regularly leave it alone for 8 hours. Maybe a re-think is due as to whether a dog is right for them at the moment. Sorry, but that is how I feel about this. I can't imagine what it is like for the poor dog having to put up with this for the majority of it's life.
