Rex, Staffie, DOB 29.03.09 – Gatwick, West Sussex

Homing Requirements: Rex needs a family who are confident and have had a Staffie before to ensure his many gifts are appreciated. He needs a secure garden & exit management. Good if supervised around visiting children can be a little mouthy if excited as bull breeds are. Not for cats. Could live in with a canine companion but needs time to settle as can hump initially with excitement. Rex can suffer from travel sickness. Rex settles when left.

His Story: One owner and a treasured dog, but the landlord has given his owner the ultimatum. Rex is neutered, chipped and vax'd and currently. In boarding kennels near Gatwick, West Sussex and has regular weekend breaks in foster with another dog.

Advert: Rex ... King, Majestic ... a large pedigree Staffie and a fine boy who carries a safe energy about him despite the fact he can be leapy with joy. He is easy to walk on a lead and learning to enjoy the freedom of an extender lead. Rex is friendly, he is receptive when meeting dogs and has had weekend foster time in the company of other dogs.

Rex is a 4 year old Brindle Staffie, a really handsome dog. He is in good health and has been well cared for and loved all his life. He has been around all ages of children but never lived with them. He can get leapy and he loves to play but heeds command. A really special boy - a cheeky monkey but the perfect gentleman with it!

Please note that this dog is currently in boarding kennels and is also available for foster until a 'forever' home is found.

An update from Rex's fosterer:

"Rex has been super so far this week. He has been enjoying walks in the sunshine and is then a complete cuddle monster in the evenings. He is also very friendly when we have friends over. Our friend came for dinner last night and he was more than happy to be fussed over. He has been for a walk in Syon Park today with me, my friend and her baby. We went to the pub for lunch and Rex behaved impeccably. He sat by my feet receiving strokes from passerbys and was as good as gold. He really is a super dog with so much potential".

Rex is still available for adoption – if you are interested in offering Rex a home please complete our homing questionnaire.

An update from Rex’s fosterer:

“He loves his walks, likes his kong ball (and food in general), loves cuddles and is friendly to everyone he meets. He is so sweet if we pop into my work. He gets all excited to meet lots of new people and runs around with his tail wagging like crazy taking it in turns to greet each person.

Here are some more pictures of the lovely Rex”:
