Cuddling as a job?

I have always felt guilty about letting my little dog on the sofa for cuddles as the big dog doesn't come on them.

BUT it has just occurred to me that since he is a pug x and pugs are in essence lapdogs, he is simply fulfilling his job description!! Therefore it is not me cuddling him, but the other way around!!

I feel better now and can happily allow the cuddles to continue!!

Anyone else whose lapdog (or bigger dog) is very good at their 'job'?

My Great-niece Abra took her Nan's dog to training classes (Abra was then eight). The first week the handlers had to say what breed their dog was and what its job was. Abra said "My dog is a Bichon Frise and she is a lapdog"!

Seems a valid occupation to me!

My lab would love to a lapdog but at 45 kilos he has no chance!! He is also a heavy shedder which doesn't really help!
