Henry does a Cosmo - English Setter

I've been taking Hen over to the Toot and letting him off lead, he has been so good for me, charging off then coming racing back, such a good boy.

Today Clive came with us, I think Hen was showing off, he went bounding off and charging back, but then he ran off and disappeared, we called and called him but he didn't appear. I knew he wouldn't be in danger as the Toot is completely fenced in, however, he had got stuck in the moat which was knee deep in mud Fortunately Clive managed to scramble down and grab his collar as he was getting deeper and deeper as he was trying to get out.

Poor little lad, he still managed to smile for the camera, and insisted in sharing the mud with us at every opportunity, either by shaking or, as I was trying to clean him off, giving big muddy kisses

I had to clean him off and dry him, then take him up 2 flights of stairs covered in cream carpet to give him a proper bath.

In all my years of owning setters I've never had one so dirty, I just didn't know where to start, it was that really clingy, slimey mud

He's all lovely and clean again now, but here's the little monster once he had been rescued

Thanks so much ladies I usually take him over there for his lunchtime walk and then again of an evening, but I think I shall keep him on lead for the first walk over there and see if he makes a beeline for the moat, if he doesn't then I may risk letting him off...it took me over 2 hours to get him clean and dry

Cosmo is very proud and flattered by all of this!!!!

He says Hen has a little way to go yet, but it's an excellent start. He is happy to offer any help and advice he can on getting as muddy as possible....this was him at the weekend...

He was actually even dirtier than he looks when we came to clean him up...he was layered. Dirty boy

ETA: just realised how proud he looks on this little s*d!!!
