Exercise for older dogs?

How much exercise do you give your older dogs?

My 2 are 13 and 11 (border collie and retriever type) and when younger they both liked lots of exercise.
Collie still has a willing brain but due to having operation on her back legs can no longer do the distance.
We tend to stick to pootling up the field and I have employed the use of a treat ball to keep their brains active at home.

Any other tips?

great question and one i was going to post! my collie is between 12 and 14 (rescue) and he also was diagnosed with leukemia 3 and a half years ago. he would go out every single time i asked him too but he has a gentle trot round the park at lunchtime and an offlead walk along the prom in the evening at his pace.

collies just don't get that they are getting old though do they!

Maybe get a toy like a Nina Ottoson toy to keep their brain more active.

Also, maybe hydrotherapy (or just a swim in a park) as there will be no pressure on their joints.
