Try giving a bath without the shower on. I use a cup to rinse my dogs. Tigger has just recently reached the acceptance stage for baths, and he's had MANY before he got to this point. I used to have to fight his weight to get him in the bath. Now he jumps in. Grudgingly, but it's no longer a wrestling match and I don't have to worry about falling in I've been bathing Savannah every other week to get her used to it while she's young, and she is very accepting of it. She seems happy when she's taken out and feels clean. I could be imagining it to make myself feel better though, lol

Retreivers usually like water. I bet the shower is the problem. Try a bath.

Would you beleive that I have given Zoi one bath in 1 1/2 years. I use the rubber curry comb on her just about every day and freshen her up with baby wipes. Her coat always gleams and she never smells.

Bon, what is a "rubber curry comb"

I have a rubber brush that I slip over my hand for Star. I wonder if it is the same thing.

Hi Carole, sounds like the same thing, only I can slip my hand in mine. The brush has small rubber tips on one side and I find it really pulls the dirt and old hair out well.

The brush looks like this:

Hi Barbara

What a great idea. I'll try that next time. Just take a bucket and fill with water and take the water from there.

Wow Bon, that's impressive My dogs start to smell like dog :smt078 Plus there are a lot of fleas where I live so I have to flea dip. Zoi has no fleas? You are lucky if she doesn't. I knew Canada was superior to the US

PS I use baby wipes in between when they get all dusty from rolling in the dirt. They work great I'm going to get one of those curry combs. Thanks for sharing that!
