Thanks for the tip Gordon, I had a look at the website and those dogs looks absolutely fabulous. And Birmingham is very do-able distance-wise as well, so that is definitely a viable option.

LMB: I hear you, I really do and it's definitely not an option that's off the table. Thing is, I LOVE training. Starting from scratch is something that actually appeals to me and there haven't been many times in my life when I had this much time available to dedicate to it. I'm the kind of person who would happily get up 3-4 times during the night for potty training and stand around in the rain cheering "good girl, that's a good wee, well done! like a loon. So that part of it really doesn't put me off all that much.

Elaine: You sound like a girl after my own heart. I have been very longingly looking at the Anglo Wulfdogs for a long time, but like all the sled dog breeds, they come with their own set of requirements and are probably best kept on large rural properties.
Being a long-standing wolf fanatic, I have read / seen enough horror stories about people who thought they could cope with a Wolf-Hybrid. I have put myself on the waiting list for a white Swiss Shepherd pup (should come up in Google ) , but their next litter is not expected till July 2015 and with only 2 UK breeders (Mother and Daughter), chances of getting one are slim to non, so I'm keeping all options open.

Yep, I'm very intrigued by the 1/2 grey-hound - 1/2 BC crosses, I personally prefer the smooth coats.
The puppy pics are to die for, but then they always are

Oh my not easy is it, with so many unwanted dog. All I can say is u can get very young recuse dogs who u can shape the why u want.
All my dads dog were rescue and have be brilliant.
I wanted a recuse but as I have a two year old I wasn't aloud one as no one can tell you weather or not it was safe . Plus she got bite once by a rescue .so we had a puppy purely for that fact. I fully intend in years to come when she's a teen to get a rescue .but you must as pp have said go with your heart your be pulled one way more then the other. Good luck and can't wait to meet what ever fur baby u bring home xx
