Help needed from Rottie owners/rescuers

Sorry in advance as this is quite a long post...

I'm not sure if i am posting in the right section, so please move me if this is not in the correct place.

Anyway if you have read my other post about dog walking volunteer, you will know i was at the newcastle dog & cat shelter today (the North Benton Farm one). there was a rottie boy in one of the kennels - i think he looked about 1 or 2, quite young looking. Now i know this may sound ridiculous but he looked so out of place there, he never barked and he had the friendliest kind eyes. He was a huge dog and his tail was not docked.

I don't know how he came to be there, maybe he grew too large for someone to cope with, but he was a friendly boy, I put my hand agains the metal bars on the cage and he was rubbing his head on my hand and gently licked my fingers.

Now to the point, do any rottie owners know of any rescuers up in Newcastle...I'm sure they could find him the home he deserves. I don't know where to start, but i just feel he needs a chance, it was a though he shouldn't be there (none of the other dogs do either of course, there was just something about him)

Sorry for rambling on, but i can't stop thinking of him, i feel he looked right into me, the worst thing is though I can't remember his name

If anyone thinks they can help, they do have a website....dogandcatshelter.com (benton north farm)

thanks.

Here's some numbers for Rottie Welfare, perhaps you could pass them on to the shelter although they probably have them anyway. Doesn't hurt to try.......

Mrs Colbourne 0208 310 4422
Mrs Copeland 07836 245021
Mrs Dawes 0208 764 1797
Mrs Fearn 01732 841082

I don't think they are in the Newcastle area but they may have a network system whereby the dog can be helped. Good luck and thank you for caring.
