I can remember Michael Foot being made Leader of the Labour Party and my parents being horrified at the way he turned up at the Cenotaph on Remembrance Sunday. He led the Labour Party to total disaster and was nothing like as Left Wing as this guy.

What's all this about America's 'right to bare arms'?

Do they anticipate a ban on t-shirts, or am I missing something?

I remember when I was on [a social network], a lady from the USA posted an article entitled, "Obama, the People of America are Coming to the White House...and they are P*ssed!"

It is true what they say about 2 countries divided by a common language, as I and many others had visions of thousands of Americans, staggering all over the White House lawns, shouting, "Barrack! You're my besht mate! I love you!" and waving bottles of Jack Daniels.

On the topic of Mr. Corbyn, I see him as a man of conviction. I admire him for taking a stance and being clear in his beliefs. I would not vote for him, because I do not agree with much of what he proposes, but I thank him for being honest about his ambitions.

Our political system only functions properly if there is a strong Opposition, who can deliver a clear and effective argument for the alternatives to Government policy.

Maybe I am not the sharpest tool in the box, but the current education system seems to treat intelligence as a disability (good job I'm a bit thick!) and slap statements on any child that is bright and ill-disciplined enough to take advantage of the 'choice'-driven learning, so beloved of teachers who trained post-1980s. Perhaps this is the only way schools can get sufficient funding to thrive?

I was deeply troubled to read an article by the Head of one of the top schools (for academic results) in the country, who claimed that the current exam system penalises children who provide answers that are too analytical! When I was at school, our A-level teachers warned us about patronising the examiners. Now, apparently, there are marks available specifically for stating the obvious and no additional marks for innovation.

I would vote for the party that encouraged every child to take pride in what they were good at and supported them in the areas they struggled in. I'd love to see a society that recognises the importance of practical skills and carftsmanship without denigrating academic ability and vice-versa.

Saw a newsflash the other day of the much vaunted Mr Corbyn in white tie attending a state banquet. What price his fine socialist principles now. The man who wouldn't sing the national anthem is now dressed up like some preening popinjay, ah well! Must try not to say - "Told you so!"
