Frozen sweetcorn sandwich

Can you defrost frozen sweetcorn and use it in a sandwich for a packed lunch to be eaten later? Or do you have to boil and cool it first?

The tins have too much sweetcorn in for a little sandwich.

Yes.

No.

The tins have too much sweetcorn in for a little sandwich.
You first say frozen, then say tins, which is confusing. If frozen you just defrost the amount you want. If tinned you just cover the remainder of the tin and put it in the refrigerator.

Frozen sweetcorn has been blanched and is normally fine to eat defrosted as is, and tinned sweetcorn is ready to eat.

You just confused me slightly by first saying frozen and then tinned! All tinned vegetables can be eaten straight from the tin [or from a dish if you prefer!] and I use defrosted frozen vegetables of the small type, ie peas, sweetcorn etc, in salads, as the blanching process is usually enough to "cook" them before freezing.

You're right, Linda, there's too much in even a small tin (and I love the stuff).

I usually transfer what's left to an airtight container and put in the fridge. It's ok for at least a couple of days
