Reminds me of the spoof magazine:

"Homeless and Gardenless"

I like to say:

"This is not just a shampoo, this is an M & S shampoo"

Oh def, I'm not saying ALL things are equal - but many are!

At least, there aren't enough differences to justify an entire weekly shop there (for me anyway).

No they haven't, the traditional way of physically crossing two plants or selecting & developing a strain of a plant is not the same directly changing the DNA of a plant in a laboratory.

A Genetically Modified(or more correctly Genetically Engineered)plant/animal is a plant/animal whose genetic characteristics have been altered by the insertion of a modified gene or a gene from another organism using the techniques of genetic engineering.

This can result in the plant becoming deadly to wildlife that consume it as a part of their natural diet.

thanks for that, I'm a geneticist btw

So what do you think crossing plants does? You are selecting for specific genes and genetically modifying the original strains. Just in a more long winded fashion to more modern selection methods

My mother used to work in the Boots factory, and they also made products for other companies. The exact same stuff went in to the fancy packaging as the cheapo stuff . Used to love it when she came home with boxes of end of line stuff etc.
