Yes they will , I know someone who paid over £3000 for a Boxer, have also know them to go for more than that.

But then, said dogs will already be known in the show ring, not a puppy from any old litter.

Depends on breed mainly. Some cross/designer/newly unrecognised breeds charge around £700. The top you would pay for a champion Border would be £350, most are £300.

Depends,
In my breed it will vary,I have no idea what stud owners are charging now but when I was planning on going back into Megs lines I think the stud fee was around £500,around the price of a pup.(a well bred SBT pup will cost around £500 -£700)

This was for a breed standard dog,who had proven himself time and time again in the ring and with the offspring he produced.

Unless of course it's a rare blue, which has a great big bully head and loads of champions in the ped and conforms to standard, yet has never been shown or proven himself

Thats right yes, more of a "guarantee" than a gamble on a baby.

I keep threatening Livvy I could do with a nice new Canon 1ds mk4, and a couple new lenses!

A unscrupulous stud dog owner will use their dog over & over. Someone who is only interested in bettering tbe breed will only allow the dog to be used on good quality bitches - dogs like bitches can be over bred. A good dog showing & winning consistenly in show ring will have his choice or rather owners choice.

If you go to any top sbow kennel website you will get idea as they will be proud to show off the puppies (their own & those who have used the dog at stud) - give you clearer picture
