Would you "shop" a benefit cheat?

I know of someone that is blatantly claiming benefit whislt working full time for cash in hand. I've been thinking about this for a long time and am on the verge of letting the benefits office know of his activities. He claims benefits for a disability, but works 40 hours a week on a building site charging £10 an hour. Think you can work out the minimum he must be earning.

Would you tell, or keep quiet?

I'd tell, hate that and dont forget your paying his benefits if you pay taxes.
Also think its unfair on the genuine disabled who cant get benefits.

I know, I guess I just need pushing in the right direction. Don't like to see anyone suffer, but it really isn't fair that he's doing this. He's not exactly shy about it either, so hopefully I won't be suspected for telling!

Yes. I wouldn't even need to think about it.

Bear in mind that some benefits relating to health / disability can be claimed and the claimant is still allowed and often encouraged to work as well.
Also, not all disabilities are visually obvious...
Just food for thought

So why is he getting cash in hand, which is illegal anyway? There is an avoidance of NIC as well as tax, even benefits are taxable so I would consider it worth the call anyway.

I've done it, you can do it on line, just fill in a form and that's it. They do take it seriously although not necessarily immediately. Just type in benefit fraud in google and you'll find the form.
