An interesting observation is how dogs have changed my life. I lived for almost fifty years without a dog. I thought they were cute and fun but never had one as a kid and busy life as an adult.
We got Sophie maybe eight years ago and Callie two. Unlike cats that can blend into the couches and windowsills...that's a joke, I love my furry meat loves...dogs are a presence.
My dogs are more like human toddlers in big furry bodies. The cats are more like human teenagers, pleased to have food and a warm lap but disdainful of big hugs and slobbery kisses.
I know now I will always have at least one dog and one cat together for the rest of my life.
