Wow! It's hard to beat an Afghan for elegance, and when you see them move they're even more sensational.

I can remember them in the 60s and 70s as fashion accessories for models and glamorous women too. In fact, I can remember seeing an ad for Afghans, probably in Our Dogs, where the breeder stated 'No models'.

Hi It gives me lots of fond memories,when I got my first Afghan,kept waiting to see the nose change all of a sudden it seemed to happen.Have you had her spayed,I only ask because she has got those whiskas.But she is absolutely gorgeous,what is her colour she looks Red.Gemini54

Hi I just went and looked at photos of my late Afghans Litter,and she is the double of my Afghan, Brother Lancelot who got to crufts,was yours bred from English stock or European,sorry but seeing her brought back some vivid memories of the two brothers,mine was a true red,face mask,where Lancelot had some red but a black mask,and a lighter colour especially round the legs,but he was the most suitable for showing then mine,whose face and nose wasnt up to breed standard,so he became a racer.My most treasured object that I ended up paying over the odds was a Beswick Red Afghan,but on the base has my Afghans Grand Sire name,I dont regret paying over the odds,but the lady selling had a complete collection of BeswickDogs of the world,and she was going to sell the whole lot for the price I paid for mine.Thank you for sharing .Gemini54

Aw she is absolutely stunning As a child I always wanted an Afghan ....... in my eyes probably the most beautiful of all breeds.

If I ever got one, I'd feel obliged to go out and buy a whole new wardrobe of clothes so I wouldn't embarrass it in my normal scruffy dog walking gear.
