Only 20 weeks Looks like he thoroughly enjoyed his little hols, especially with the river at the bottom of the garden. He's fab!

Thanks all for your comments, he is gorgeous and I am totally smitten, can't wait to get home every day to see him.

He's due to go for a groom and hair cut but the place I want him to go has been closed due to a family bereavement, I think they are back open this week so I'll get him booked in.

Why do they do that 'back end' haircut on them? I'd have thought that would make one half of them colder or warmer than the other half in cold or hot weather.

The lion clip is a traditional clip for the breed.... It's purpose is to free the back end ( engine ) up for powering through the Atlantic Ocean ...the full coat is for buoyancy it traps air to keep them warm and helps them float....I don't think having a shaved backside is going to effect their ability to keep warm in our winters, when they swim in the Atlantic doing a days work clipped this way.

Although its classed as a show clip, if you google old pics of the breed you will see them clipped this way.
