I haven't noticed it Brenda, Must be your server I would think.

Harvey that is good about the oil situation. Must admit I have saved on the leccy too. But I fear it will soon be hard as this flat is such a cold place and the night storage heaters are a problem. I ought perhaps to order some more calor gas for the one mobile heater I think.

We usually top up the electric storage heaters with a calor gas heater in the hall too Moyra. It usually does the job.

I understand that new houses will all have electric heating soon as they are stopping fossil fuel heating. It may just prompt manufacturers to come up with a more useful system

Moyra, the security thing only flashes up on my tablet not the pc.
Chris I have always found my central heating a pain. When we lived in the other house we had gas fires and that suited us because it was instant heat if you know what I mean, no waiting for rads to warm up. Now having lived here for over 20 years I still find them a pain as they still take a while to warm the house. Now having a husband that feels the cold and me that doesn't I walk around with a short sleeved top on and he wears jumpers and thermal vest and still feels chilly hence putting the heating on too soon in October. Hey ho. I will have to resort to going around In the nude. At least now after my losing weight I am better looking. rofl!! Hm not really. bg!!

We are exactly the same with the heating Brenda. We too had gas central heating before and, oh, the luxury of that advance button should never be taken for granted .

Unfortunately, there's no mains gas in the village here despite it being available in villages around us. Still, it's a minor inconvenience for living here because we do love it

the little button on the boiler that overrode timings and allowed you to put it on for as little or as much time as you wanted.

It meant in slightly chilly weather, you could just turn it on for an hour or so to take the chill off

We have a timer that does that but I do it with the thermostat once I have switched it on in the cupboard.
