puppy teething

hi all, spoke to bellaluna bout this already.

But here goes,, Indies new teeth have come thru, or are still coming through.
Anyways, both sides of her back teeth keep bleeding. Is this normal? I had to take a bone off her today cos it was all of a sudden spotted with blood.

If its normal, is there anything i can do to help? she already has lots of toys and bones to chew on. Or is it these things causing her teeth to bleed?

thanks

I used to see Stars chews with a bit of blood on them when she was teething but never managed to get a good look in her mouth.

I never saw blood on the bones, but I just recently took a dog quiz about how long will your dog live, and in it it said that bleeding gums was not normal. It's worth looking into. Maybe it's different because she's a puppy? Savannah has never had that happen though.

Murphs gums bled as his new teeth came through -we could hear the 'baby' teeth pinging across the floor

We just made sure he had plenty of stuff to chew on -a soaked frozen (old ) teatowel seemed to be favourite

Think babies -when they are teething they are irritable cos it hurts and want to chew everything -as long as its not excessive bleeding then I wouldn't worry

Sal's never bled. I will have to keep an eye on Tess's, but I imagine it is not unusual.
