Yes yes, I'm new. Got a White Shepherd and a Shepherd Mix.

Hello all. I've only just joined the site. My name is Alison.

Two weeks ago I adopted a 6.5 year old White Shepherd from a German Shepherd Rescue here in Scotland. It was just a lucky chance that they rehomed a White with us. He's really gorgous and I would love to speak with others who have them.

I also have a 3 year old German Shepherd/Hound X. She's wonderfrul too. The White was adopted to be a friend for her after our older dog (an Alaskan Malamute X) died. The White's name is Kavik and the other is Ookie. Both are from the same German Shepherd Rescue.

I'm having some problems with Kavik at the moment. I spoke to the vet yesterday and it seems that he was not fed for a least a month before I got him. He's all skin and bones and he has trouble eating. It's like he doesn't remember how. His stomach has shrunk and the vet wants me to feed him 3 to 4 times a day. It's a mess and I feel so bad for the poor guy. He's such a beautiful dog.

My mum has a rescue and she was very thin when she got her. Same advice was given may be try some cooked chicken and rice just to get him used to eating.
something really tasty

Others on here will know far more than me I am sure

Sorry to hear that he is so thin.
Raw tripe is good for putting weight on as is Breast of Lamb
