West Sussex Greyhound Walking Group

Details of our next walk below.

Meeting at: Leechpool & Owlbeech Woods Free Car Park at 10.30am on Saturday 7th September 2013. Nearest postcode for Sat Navs RH13 5UT.

Directions: Leechpool & Owlbeech Woods are located to the East of Horsham just off Harwood Road (B2195).

Leechpool and Owlbeech Woods consists mainly of heathland, woodland and wetland. The woods are part of the former medieval hunting forest of St Leonards, located in an area known as the Weald Forest Ridge. This is the highest ridge of the High Weald - designated an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and one of England's finest landscapes.

The walk itself is about 2 miles of easy walking, and will take about an hour to complete.

Please bring some water along for your dogs.

This walk is open to all sighthounds, and any non-greyhound dog living with a greyhound family is welcome too.

We just have two rules which we would ask you to follow: All dogs on leads, and all poop to be scooped.

Contact Sam on 07941 427549 for any further information.

All dogs must be kept under the control and supervision of their owners. All dogs attend at their owners risk and whilst every care will be taken, we accept no responsibility for loss, damage or injury however caused to dogs, persons or property while at these events.

We are a Greyhound walking group established in 2010 who meet at least once a month at various locations throughout West Sussex and sometimes the bordering Counties.

These walks are purely just a social friendly get together for the Greyhound owners out there who enjoy meeting up for a stroll and chat with likeminded people. All Greyhound owners and their hounds will be welcomed on our walks no matter where you re homed your Greyhound from, any non greyhound dog living with a Greyhound family is welcome too.

We find the Greyhounds also enjoy walking as a group and meeting up with their own kind. These walks are often useful if your Greyhound is of a nervous disposition as they can often feel more secure in a large group.

We aim to raise the profile of rescued and retired (ex-racing) greyhounds, showing the public what beautiful companions these dogs make once off the track. By joining us on these walks you will be helping to promote this wonderful breed.
