You don't have to justify your choice of car to anyone. I wish people would mind their own business.

Sorry alexandra, I thought you were British.

And automobile paint is pretty scratch resistant. Remember - the paint is there to protect against corrosion - nothing else - errh - well its also a help for daft people like me to recognise my own car.

Sorry but you talking out of your ar5e.

Just because I have got a car that retails at over £50,000 new, doesn’t mean that anyone else has the right to put my car at risk of getting scratched.

hi there,
i have no objection,to people driving 4x4 in the right places , like someone i know who lives down a farm track, i dont think they should be driven near schools, or as an fashion item just to keep up with the jones,i am sure other people wont agree, but we are all entitled to our own opinions, sure there are some people who are better and driving them and are much more safely than others,

I cant remember saying that! And I certainly don't support anybody denting or scrathing your car, no mater what it is.

I buy a car for a purpose. I use the "jeep" which is a ex. mil. MercBenz GD around the stable and its a mess. Wife almost refuses to be seen in it so she gets to use the Audi A6 which she keeps nice and tidy. People stare at me too, but I think thats because its still camoflage painted.
I think I'm getting kinda OT here, and now I don't even remember what my point was. So it probably wasnt even a good one.

No, but SOME people seem to think that because they're in a great big Toyota massive great big tractor thingy, they can just stop where they like, right outside the school, block the whole road, and turn round and look at me as if to say "I can do this, coz I have a child, who needs to get safely into school, so it doesn't really matter that I'm holding you up, you and everyone else that is" Grrrrrr, that's my gripe, that's what happens in my village every single morning at 8.45 in the main exit to my village and it really does pee me off I'm afraid! I really wouldn't mind if it was a farmer on his way up to his field or something, but why oh why, do they think they need to have one of these monsters just because little Freddy goes to the village school in a very upmarket little village and it sort of goes with the territory, when in actual fact they live down the town in a terraced house and have no real need for it at all???!!! Or maybe they do then, maybe I just don't get it!!!

4x4s are meant to be used for offroad whats the point of owning one if all you do is polish it and crawl around towns and citys and built up areas with a few speed bumps and if its room why not get a good estate car instead we are all entitled to our own opinions

In my experience parents are the worst offenders around schools no matter what they drive, they double park, they park on pavements with their ar5e end sticking out and they just stop in the middle of the road to let the kids out . Anyone with any sense avoids roads with schools at certain times of the day, personally I would rather make a long detour than venture anywhere near one. I think people should be entitled to drive the vehicle of choice without everyone else sitting in judgement as to why they need it. Do I ask why you need so many pairs of shoes or boots, or why your bmw is apparently less of an issue than a 4x4. Frankly my bmw was total crap in bad weather and as I live on a hill I certainly don't miss it in the winter when the roads are icy oh and the road tax would be exactly the same as the 4x4 if I had kept it.
