Dogsey

I've always been a dog lover and always had dogs at home as long as I can remember. Unfortunately, when I graduated college and started my first job, it became apparent that the lifestyle of a marketing consultant does not mix with owning dogs. As hard as it was, I then took the decision to leave my well-paying job, take a step back and live the life I wanted: right near the seaside with my hubby and our first dog Ziggy. We adopted Ziggy from someone who had supposedly gotten a back injury and couldn't take Ziggy out for walks anymore (we think the true reason is because Ziggy was acting out, the poor thing was in severe pain because of a chronic ear infection + a severe inflammation due to a bad castration). In the meantime he's become a true friend and companion to both of us. He enjoys retrieving, playing, learning new things and strangely enough loves agility exercises (even though he's quite clunky - we've often considered renaming him 'Tank' :P). Because Ziggy's still playful and quite young (1.5 y/o now), we quickly started thinking about adopting a little furry friend for him. This idea quickly materialized in March 2011, as we heard of a couple getting rid of their 5 y/o crazy playful podenco/spaniel mix. We visited the family and James and Ziggy really hit it off, playing for hours until both were completely exhausted. Even though James had never been taught anything (he was left outside in the yard by himself usually) and he was quite a handful in the beginning, he's now starting to learn the basics and he has already taken up a special place in our heart :-). Even though we sometimes struggle, we're eternally patient with him and hope to have two perfect doggies soon :D
