Dogsey

Hi, my name is Kate and I'm married [10 years last year] to Michael and we have one son [John, who's nine]. We also have two children from M's first marriage and one grandson [5]. I was a nurse, specialised in Ophthalmics, and I gave it up to teach our son when we took him out of school because of being bullied. He has a form of Autism called Aspergers' Syndrome. My love of dogs started when I was about seven years old, I fell in love with a Long-haired Dacshund! I was given Snoopy when I was nine years old, she lived until she was 15 and 1/2 years....she was the best dog in the world....my best friend and I still miss her. We have two dogs, but John didn't know them as puppies, and he has always wanted a West Highland White, so we're hopefully going to get him a Westie cross [but a white one that looks more like a Westie...if you know what I mean!!] There is another reason for wanting a third dog - again - we lost our rescue Belgian Shepherd Cross about 3 years ago. We nearly lost Eddie a couple of years ago, she had Closed Pyometra and she was VERY, VERY poorly. Her sister, Bob, was not like herself at all while Eddie was in the vets.....I was really worried that she would pine away....they've never been apart for more than a day since they were born. We have two [rescued] Chinchillas - Scooby and Scrappy, and seven fish tanks with both cold and tropical fish [many of them we rescued from being 'flushed' - yes, sadly people do do this], and aquatic frogs. Not quite sure what the relevance of the 'What car I drive' part.....but it is actually for a reason that we bought it [we also have a VW Sharon (seven seater)]. The reason is is that we are hopefully going to buy a Camper Van this year, which will make it a lot easier to take the dogs on holiday, and the little car is to tow!! Also, it's for John when he turns 17 - I don't want to go through finding a small, cheap but safe/dependable car again!!
