No season

My 17 month old lurcher bitch has not had a first season yet and it's really worrying me. Is this normal? She's greyhound sized.

Re: No season

Inca, one of my cocker spaniels didn't have her 1st (and only) season until 23 months 2 weeks!! We took her to the vet when she was 23 months, she had a full set of blood works done, all came back normal....there were further tests that could be done, but VERY expensive, my vet said he wouldn't worry until she reached 3 years old, then to take it further......typically she came in season 2 weeks after the blood tests, it's now 9 months since that season and nothing so far.

Re: No season

Same with Inca, we're on stand by with the stud dog owner ready for when (if) her next season arrives, my other dogs all had seasons around the age of 9 months or there abouts for their first, so I too was getting worried, so no matter when her next season is, we will have her mated, especially if her seasons end up every 12 months, she is 3 in May and we can't afford to wait much longer.
