Karen, It works just the same as "normal" pro rata. We have some staff who work term time only and whatever their annual salary is continues to be divided into 12 equal monthly payments so that they have a salary over the holidays. If for example the salary was £12.000 per year including 4 weeks holiday they would earn £1000 per month. If the same salary included 12 weeks holiday they would earn £10,000 per year (approx) divided into 12 monthly payments. These are made up figures but that is roughly how it works-the personnel or wages department of the company should be able to tell your friend what the exact yearly earnings are taking into account all the deductions and she just needs to divide it by 12 to get her approx monthly earnings. |
