Re: Help re kc registering a SBT

Your friend cannot registyer the dog with the KC, only the breeder can do that.

The fact that the breeder didn't bother to register the litter rings alarm bells to an extent. In many cases, it means that the litter was not eligible for registration due to the dam being too young or one or other (or both) of the parents having their pedigrees endorsed so that any pups they produced couldn't be registered (it's a tool to try to prevent indiscriminate breeding).

Of course, it could be one or other (or both) of the parents are not KC registered themselves and therefore pups can't be registered either.

Your friend would be best to speak to the breeder and ask if it is possible for the breeder to register the pup at this stage.

Re: Help re kc registering a SBT

Your colleague will not be able to register the SBT for breed showing only the breeder can & if the parents are not KC registered then the dog cannot be registered other than for KC activities(flyball, obedience etc)

She can show him at Companion Shows(they used to be called Exemption Shows)but these are only fun shows & the wins count for nothing except the enjoyment of the day

The breeder will only be able to register the litter if both parents ae KC registered

Re: Help re kc registering a SBT

Are the sire and dam KC reg and did she not bother to reg the pups? What is the pedigree under Kennel club?

If the parents are not KC reg then she will not be able to show at all. There are other types shows ed reid etc, i will get a few more details but these are for more agile and fitter staffords? alot of KC reg staffords do attend the sporting/athletic show but normally in better shape than the KC show, it requires that more than KC show do, even thou you cannot have an over weight dog in the KC shows.

Re: Help re kc registering a SBT

if the parents are KC registered and there are no endorsements rendering pups ineligible for registration, then your friends should ask the breeder to register the 'pup' now.
late registrations are more expensive but it is possible.
