Introducing The "Worlds First" Bite Release Dog Wand

Hello,

We would like to introduce to you to ‘"The World’s First Dog Wand", with the use of pioneering technology, the Bite Release Dog Wand is perfect for everything from naughty puppies to feral attacks and life-saving situations.

The scary truth
Dog attacks throughout the UK and US are one of the most common cause of severe facial injuries, with an estimated 200,000 recorded dog bites in the UK and over 4,500,000 recorded dog bites in the US every year. This is largely due to the fact that many dogs are left to roam the streets without adequate training.

Introducing Bite Release
Bite Release puts an end to nasty dog bites with a pioneering new product which releases any dog chomp in seconds! The Bite Release product is a non-invasive wand ( NOT Electric Shock ), which has been tested and is absolutely harmless to the animal, whilst releasing any dogs bite whether on a toy, child or animal. The long handle keeps your hand a safe distance from the mouth area, and with a simple press of a button the dog will instantly release its grip, it’s simple!
Bite Release can been useful in any household throughout the world whether you are animal lovers or not. It provides peace of mind and sometimes life-saving protection from feral dogs, and can also be used to train those cute, but naughty puppies to protect your furniture from costly destructive damage.

How does it work
When the button is pressed it generates harmless ‘ultra sonic vibrations’, the animal feels a sensation that is totally new to them thus distracting and homing their focus on the sensation instead of biting or chewing etc. We found that some lower and some higher vibration frequencies wouldn’t work on all dogs but we have found the perfect frequency that always releases a bite. Although we want to keep the exact frequency a secret, the technology behind the ‘Dog Wand’ has proven to work on a dog time after time. Perfect for long-term use!
The Bite Release Wand is also perfectly safe and harmless to young dogs and puppies, the only training tool needed to stop unwanted nipping and chewing, helping to train your dog to chew only its own toys. Your slippers will thank us!

Testimonials
Very impressed… Bite Release Wand certainly works and certainly has a place for it within training dogs to bite and release” Gaynor Probert , Director and Dog Trainer at A1K9 & Behaviorist for the CFBA.

The Bite Release tool would be wonderful to help us to control nasty dogs, it has an instant reaction and stops biting quickly, without any harm to yourself or the dog” Jean Morris, Veterinary Surgeon for over 40 years

About us
We would like to introduce ourselves as Paul James and Karen James, a married couple from Cardiff, United Kingdom. We have always had a passion for mechanics, engineering, new technology and inventions, and have spent the past couple of years developing our Bite Release idea into commercial reality. After a worrying rise in the number of dog attacks in the UK and little in the market when its comes to protection from these attacks, Bite Release was born as a humane and safe to use tool – which could save lives!

Nice to see some innovation coming out of Cardiff

Maybe you have been reading the forums here, as we have often suggested that instead of shock collars people manufacture 'vibrate' collars (for those who are that way inclined!)

One thing that worries me though, is the dog turning on the wand or the person holding it and although you have made claims about breaking up dog fights, have you actually tried one in an actual dog fight?

With that said, it certainly seems MUCH better than trying to prize open a dogs jaws with your hands!

PS forgot to say - Jean Morris (the vet in one of your videos) was our vet when I was a kid, she is a very good/experienced vet - she used to take in hurt wild animals and fix them up and release them for free

The type of fights that I have experienced have been fast moving skirmishes. I find it hard to envisage when, and to which dog, you would be able apply the vibration. I can see that this might be of most use in a dog on person attack situation, or for inter dog fighting in a breed which locks-on.
I would be interested to see a video of its use in a fast moving scrap, such as a food fight, but at the same time, I wouldn't like you to have to stage a fight for the purpose.

I'm not sure if carrying that around is going to catch on....its kinda like...some other 'vibrating sticks' on the market. Um. But its a really great idea could the design be changed though to look more like a wood stick or something?

Sorry I don't like the wand.

Imagine carrying that around with you every time you went for a walk.
It looks like the modern version of a 'break stick' to me and could be lethal to any dog with that sharp point .

Not somthing I would ever use, if I was being attacked by a dog I would buy time by covering its eyes with a garment not try to force something in its mouth inflaming an already tense situation and getting close to its teeth.
If it was dog on dog I would prefer to grab the dogs back legs wheelbarrow fashion.

With the Bite Release Dog Wand at hand, owners of playful puppies can stop gnawing, nibbling and nipping within a few clicks of the button
Using the wand is not the same as teaching bite inhibition something all puppies need to learn.

Thank you all for the reply and for points of view.

@Azz, @CaroleC: In the vast majority cases of fights, the dogs get injured by the owners trying to break them up and not by the fight itself. In all the trials made by us and by trained specialists the dog stops biting, being distracted and giving time for the owners to split them.

@Trouble: Yes it is a vibrating stick, you can see it in action in our videos posted on KickStarter

@Terriermon: Our product is patented and I'm not aware of other "vibrating sticks" out there on the market. The stick is harmless and can be applied near the mouth, head or neck of the dog. The PRO version is sharp because can be used as a classic 'breaking stick' if batteries fail after intensive use.

@Meg:

Can you please relate how you can kill a dog with a vibrating soft and not so sharp stick ?

Ass i pointed earlier, the wand can be used on the neck area or head. Is not a breaking stick that uses force to open the jaws of the dog.
If it was dog on dog I would prefer to grab the dogs back legs wheelbarrow fashion.
Wouldn't that injure your loved dog ?

I find it difficult to believe that it would work on a dog that had locked on as the situation is adrenaline fuelled and I doubt that even a shock would work in that situation.

Using such a device in place of proper training, ie with playful puppies, just doesn't sit well at all.

There are videos on our kickstarter page that show dogs locked and instantly releasing the bite when the Wand was applied

The Bite Release has been extensively tested by specialists in the field, from police and military dog trainers to vets receiving positive feedback as you can see on our project page
