Dog-punching man in Lancashire sought by RSPCA

I hope he is caught soon. You can see him dragging the dog by the ear too

A man seen in video footage repeatedly punching a dog is being sought by the RSPCA.

Insp Charlotte Brooker said the animal - thought to be an American bulldog - was "clearly petrified".

The incident took place in Hendon Road in Nelson, Lancashire, at about 15:15 GMT on 10 December.

A member of the public filmed the attack and gave the footage to the RSPCA, which said it was "extremely concerned" for the dog's welfare.

Insp Brooker said: "We hope that the images of him and the dog - a large white bull breed, we think probably an American bulldog - along with the location and time this happened will mean that those who know him will recognise him, and call us."

It's an odd clip that.

I saw it on the news earlier and to be honest I couldn't work out what was going on.

It's still odd.

He's got no lead, picks it up, carries it over to the pavement then either punches or slaps the dog repeatedly......but then picks it up and carries it off again.

I pittty the poor dog but I just can't figure out what he's trying to do.

It's almost as though he's giving it a very heavy handed lesson for running off before taking it home.

He'll get a slap on the wrist, he should be imprisoned.
