A very special Newfie!

Some of you might have heard about Bilbo, a 14 stone Newfie in Cornwall who is credited with saving lives from the waters around Sennen in Cornwall.
Poor Bilbo has died. He became famous when the local council banned all dogs from the beach.... including Bilbo.
Here is a link to a gallery of his photos;

And a bit of his story here;

He was certainly a impressive dog.

It comes to the best of them eventually but he's had great life and a good innings too for a Newfie.

Very sad to read about Bilbo as Phil says he had a very good innings for a Newfie and lived a wonderful life doing what his breed is bred for.
He sure was an impressive dog and a very good ambassador for his breed.

Oh Jenny, thank you so much for posting this. No I had not heard 'tho I expect it will feature in the next issue of Newf News when I get it.

A lovely dog and one who was happy to work with humans and save lives it just goes to show that they are creatures who stand head and shoulders above many horrible humans we read about every day in the papers.
