Eyelid wart

Hi,

Does anyone know how to get rid of an eyelid wart without surgery? I don't want Cubbie to go through any surgery.

Thanks

Yes indeed,, he suggested surgery and that he would need to take out a chunk and I don't want that.

Just been having a look online, not sure if these two procedures are available where you are but it might be worth discussing with the vet the chance of having it removed by Electrocautery, burns the wart off basically or Cryosurgery which freezes it off.
Not sure if either will work in your dogs case but no harm in asking I think.

Good point Eileen.

Is the wart low down on the eyelid? I only ask because if it isn't bothering your dog in any way then perhaps it needs no further action at present? However, if the vet is recommending removal then it would be a quick and straightforward procedure - easy to say when it is someone else's dog I know, but sometimes we have to bite the bullet as it were.

You know what Eileen, I suggested freezing it off and my vet doesn't do that.. Do you or anyone else know of any Vets that do that? Live in Philly.

It is located at the corner and about the size of a pea.

In Northern Ireland Bev,sorry.
Does your vet believe this wart to be cancerous and that's the reason for removing it and also an added chunk of tissue?
If it is in fact benign and causing the dog no irritation or concern,I can't see any reason for having it removed really.Sometimes,as long as they are no danger to the dog's health of course, these things are best left alone and in some cases can actually go away on their own.
