Whats wrong with him????? HELP ASAP

Not sure if im posting this is right place

my 2 year old rottie has SUDDENLY started acting really wierd!!

he keeps pacing round and slightly wining and seems on edge!

he also wont leve me alone?? he keeps sitting on my feet if im sat down or rubbing himself on my legs if I stand up .. He wont leave my side 4 a second?

he normally does follow me around the house and come for cuddles but also he likes his own space at times and will leave me alone if I ask him 2 but this evening he is bein REALLY full on.

he seems unsettled in some way and this wining and grunts he's doin is totally new.

he has been in and out the house all day and seems 2 b peeing loads today.

last weekend he peed on my sons dressing gown twice (in the house) and he has never done this b4 ... Also my son has just been to visit me and this is when his behaviour seemed to change (not sure if that is relevant or not)

Is there an in season female around or had your son been near one

Ok so I just let him out AGAIN he jumped out the back door and back in within seconds and peed on my kitchen floor right by the door ...

It was only a little bit of pee but it was VERY dark in colour???

Think he mite ave urine infection??

I ave just recently changed his food as well 2 a much more expensive brand

What you have said about the dark pee, it could be a urine infection, best get him to the vets tomorrow

Can you take him to the vet in the morning with a urine sample?

Depends on how you feel he is. Personally I reckon he needs to go to an emergency vet now. . Hope he's ok. Let us know.

Definitely sounds like the poor chap has cystitis. Try & get a sample to take with you - not as hard as it sounds with males, just stand with a bowl or jug and when he starts to wee, just deftly slip the bowl/jug under the flow and transfer to a sterile bottle or jar. Sterilise with water that's been boiled and allowed to cool down a bit, them drain it overnight and collect the wee about an hour before you go to the vet, the fresher the sample, the better.

Update ---

I called local vets last nite but they were not open as I live in rural arear we only have 1 vets. I left Sam in the kitchen over night.

came down this morning and he hadnt pee'ed anywhere during the nite.

I let him out and he did about a million pee's and I noticed it was still very dark brown colour ... Also his bowls seem loose (but this could b coz I changed his food)

he seems happy and contant tho tail waggin jumpin round and he is eating and drinking.

I will call the vets at 9am once they are open and book an appointment!
