Monty Halls Great Hebridean Escape

One that should be well worth watching. His similar Applecross escape was great, and he has a lovely dog called Reuben

Marine biologist and professional diver Monty Halls moves into a restored crofter's cottage on the Hebridean island of North Uist and becomes a volunteer wildlife ranger

BBC2 9pm on Wednesday.

Watching it just now. His cottage here is luxury compared to the one at Applecross.

Did I ever tell you we used to go up to 'Sand' where the Applecross one was filmed. We we're last there just before the building was transformed.

I'll dig some pics out later if my PC speeds up a bit.

I really enjoyed the programmes made at Applecross this one looks like being just as good.

Nice to see Reuben the rescue dog again, he certainly found the perfect home with Monty.

Here's a few from 'Monty's' beach 'Sand' by Applecross.

On a fine sunny day with the place to yourself - it's hard to top.

Hannah & Fingal

Pan right a touch to the building

Over to Skye

Fantastic photos Phil. It is a wee slice of heaven - that is for sure!

Loved the programme last night and am very happy to see there are five more episodes.

We've been thinking about Uist for next year - I've discovered somebody doing some PhD work on the ecology of the St Kilda fieldmouse spending about 4-5 months a year on Kilda in 5 week stints. He's given me a few tips and names for a trip over St Kilda.
