Re: Pitbull Banning in USA

Don't think pitbulls were ever here to the extent that they are in the US . From what I have seen on US rescue programmes there seems to be loads more over there so banning them would be a lot more difficult

Re: Pitbull Banning in USA

To be truthful from my perspective the bnn seemed to have the opposite effect, but then I don't live in an area where there were a lot of seizures.

I have seen more 'Pit bull type' Staffy crosses and 'Irish Staffies' since the ban than I ever did before it. If anything round here it seems to have made the bigger taller beefier looking staffies even more popular.

Pit Bulls are already banned in parts of the USA.

Dog bans can never truly be 100% enforced.

Pits are very popular here. Some communities have banned them, but most haven't because they realize such a ban would be impossible to enforce. Besides that, as we all know, it isn't the dog thats dangerouse, its the owner. I feel bad for pits because they tend to get the cr@p owners who don't vaccinate, train, socialize, or care for their dogs properly.

Re: Pitbull Banning in USA

Agree with Magpye. There are more in certain areas than ever - and people seem to be getting even cockier about publicly announcing they are pits. I think the problem is that the ban is just so unenforceable - how to prove it's a pit? On the other hand, the sad thing is the amount of abuse I know some good friends of mine with beautiful staffs get - so many people try to tell them are pits and what they are doing is illegal. Idiot members of the public.

I dont see any where we are...never have done.

I hate it when you hear of them being seized and put down tho ;-( some people are so selfish breeding them when they know thats what can/will happen.
